Several of the factories in northern Colorado continued to operate, but they may be all dead now. Don't know about Ft Morgan. Some still exist in various states of decay. But one by one they are being leveled. Greeley is now a cheese factory. Eaton is a massive frac sand unloading area.
The GM of the railroad in the mid 80's always expected to haul beets again. When I arrived in 1985, the Utah hoppers were still spotted at several beet dumps, never to haul a beet again.
