Thanks for the nice shots of the EBT cars in Northwoods paint. You're right, they look pretty good in the mid fifties. For those not familiar with EBT equipment, combine 18 is one of the oldest passenger cars of the EBT to survive. Built in the early 1880"s (1884?) for the EBT's Shade Gap branch, the car was a low cost Billemeyer & Smalls built car with an arched roof, the clearstory being added later during a rebuild. The barred windows protected mail and payroll money shipped during common carrier days. Baggage 29 was purchaced second hand from the Ausable & Northwestern in Michigan, in the early teens. Baggage 29 and sister car 19 were never really needed for baggage on the passenger trains, were seldom used. Car 19 was scrapped early, 29 spent more of its time in MOW service, at one point painted red with an EBT shield. Sort of hijacking the thread, sorry about that.
