My reprint of Timetable 102 (July 20, 1919) shows freight train 427 leaving Antonito on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and Train 428 leaving Santa Fe on Tuesdays Thursdays and Saturdays so one crew was all that was needed. I do not know if this was the case in 1925-26 era. Engineer Walsh had seniority on engineer Kellogg so if there was only one crew I don't know where engineer Kellogg fits in. Maybe he was the Santa Fe or Antonito hostler.
In another aside engineer Walsh was deadheading on the southbound passenger train that ran away on Barranca Hill in 1929 killing engineer Johnny Reddington and fireman Jack Fish.
(The timetable was reprinted by the Colorado Railroad Museum).
