The engine from the Lava Pumphouse was loaned to a farm equipment preservation group up in La Jara. they restored it to operation, mounted it on an old farm wagon and haul it around to fairs, etc. I think they had it in Antonito for one of the towns Spring wingdings a few years back.
I understand the pump portion froze and broke, and was removed. By whom and when I don;t know.
I saw movies that Gary Getman shot of the new Lava Tank going up (its the old DRGW Antonito Tank). It indeed has a liner inside. If I recall it was a small 5-6000 gal steel tank inside.
La Jara tank was a small steel tank about the size of the Villa Grove and Jack Cabin Tanks. It was still standing in the early 1980's, then disappeared.
