I'm pretty sure the 485 went north before the Valley Line quit. It wasn't in Alamosa in the end of 1951. My Durango call book from Dec. 51 to July 52 has no mention on 485. In fact the only K36 shown at that time was 488, and it was pretty always assigned to the Farmington Branch. I know 484 was down there too, it must have been in the Alamosa shop having serious work done to it. Some time after July, 487 was transferred back to ALA by flatcar. I think 486 stayed up in Salida until 1956.
