Russo is right, that is a gen-U-ine historic artifact that has been altered. But it certainly is a good model for a replica, and the photographs can not only help get the lettering correct but also help determine which are the DRGW era dings and bullet holes that need to also be replicated (versus the post abandonment digs and bullet holes that should be ignored!).
Some years ago I helped "restore" the tar paper "motorcar" shed at Cumbres. Only later did we come to find that it had been something like a tool shed for the DRGW, and that Scenic had rotated it 90 degrees and modified it to store motorcars by putting a door on one end. At some point it probably needs to be restored back to its DRGW configuration (assuming we can figure out what that was).
The C&TS has been around for so long that just because something looks old does not mean that was the way it looked in DRGW days!
