Jm Gross and I have looked at the newly provided photos of "Danger" signs on the oil loading facilities and photos that we already had. Jim prepared a couple of side-by-side comparisons, using Dick Bell's 1978 shot of the facility's north end and a 2006 south-end shot by Jim (which is similar to Dave Dye's 1998 shot). From holes, markings and other features, it appears the "Danger" sign that was on the north end of the oil loading facility is now on the south end. Also, Dick's shot shows that the sign's old dark-background paint scheme lasted past abandonment and well into the C&TS' first decade.
We don't know what happened to the "Danger" sign that was previously on the facility's south end and we don't know why the north end's sign one moved to the south end. Just speculating, maybe the signs changed location(s) in the course of repainting and one got "lost" during or after that.
There's also a "Danger" sign on the speeder shed near the water tank, but we don't think it's the sign that formerly was formerly on the south end. We say that because an early photo showing the dark-background sign on the facility's south end also showed a dark-background sign on the speeder shed.
So, two of the three "Danger" signs still exist in the yard and the third one is MIA. We also don't know the whereabouts of a different sign that formerly was on the north end of the oil facility along with the since-moved "Danger" sign.
But now we now more about the signs and their histories. Thanks again.
