That is a great photo. Especially rare since it is only one of 2 that I can think of that show #17 in the 1940's after conversion to oil. I have never gotten to go in the old engine house building, but before it was fenced off in recent years I peered through the cracks more than once. The stall 101 is in was a short stall with various small rooms forward of it. From the AFE material, IIRC, they included a shower room, store room and office etc. One of my friends who lives in Baker did get permission to poke around years back and found a few usable air brake gaskets in one of the rooms. The roof of the building was near collapse a few years ago. Some of the perlans had given way leaving large gaping holes. One of the reasons Western Railway Preservation Society was formed was to try to acquire this property and repair the buildings. We were not able raise the funds before it was sold to someone else. While the property has turned into an auto salvage yard, the new owners did invest the money to repair the roof, which I imagine was a sizable chunk.
