While I don't have any photos of the work on the concrete grade beam and footing being installed years ago, here is a link to photos Becky Falk took last month of the interior of the wall facing the track and the sandhouse. You can clearly see the concrete miniwall that John and his teams put in to support the structure. Up until they put that in, all the weight of a 75 ton coal bunker was resting on a WOODEN mud sill, incredible. John thinks the weight started to collapse the wood almost as soon as they filled the coal bunker in the 1920s. No wonder it was leaning.
