Re: second sections on the D&SNG?

Sixteen and occasionally more train movements a day pass by the Silverton depot on the four trains a day routine. It is a great location to see steam in action from the comfort of the bench on the depot platform. And this past Saturday when the 486 was replaced by diesel 11 for the return trip to Durango, there was more switching involving the 486, 473 and the diesel. No need for me to take a cruise ship to Silverton because the depot is a minute and a half drive from the front door of my house. And the added feature of no fences, no manicured grass, no phoney cute things like flowers in boxes to clutter up an otherwise truly authentic Colorado narrow gauge scene. And an added bonus is a freshly repainted Silverton Northern office/ticket office building next door.
