According to the schedule published on their website, the DSNG is running 3 trains a day between Durango and Silverton between June 6th and August 11th. After that, it is 2 trains a day. The departure times on the 3/day schedule are 8:00 AM, 8:45 AM and 9:30 AM. So if someone saw a fourth train after the 9:30 AM departure time, it was likely a second section. As John noted, folks should look for green flags on the locomotive leading the 9:30 departure.

If I recall correctly, one of the Durango-area locals recently reported a second section on the 9:30 train. Perhaps it happened more than once. If that's the case, good for the DSNG!! Glad to see that folks are patronizing the trains.
