I have been blessed to have visited the WP&Y many times and have visited the gift shop on every visit. I would be willing to bet that the folks behind the counter had no idea I am a narrow gauge fan, modeler, history fan and photographer on any of my visits. I also have many friends who would like to visit the WP&Y but because of circumstances, are unable or unwilling to expend the funds to visit the WP&Y. That said, they still share an interest in the WP&Y, just as many of us would like to be part of the Fall Reunion and or Rail Rockers but are unable to attend this year. Also, the rail fan community is a very small portion of the overall population.
The main reason that the WP&Y exists is in the background of this photo.
I hope I have opportunity to return to as many narrow gauge operations as I can and as frequently as my wife will tolerate. I just can't get enough!
