Some Interesting RGS Locomotive Trivia:

At the end of 1890 there were 3 locomotives on the roster - 1, 2 and 4
At the end of 1891 there were 32 locomotives on the roster
At the end of 1892 there were 35 locomotives on the roster - The all time high
At the end of 1900 there were 24 locomotives on the roster
At the end of 1904 there were 18 locomotives on the roster
At the end of 1916 there were 13 locomotives on the roster - including the new 70 and 85 Class engines
At the end of 1929 there were 6 locomotives on the roster - Mr. Miller did his best to operate with just those 6!
At the end of 1939 there were 7 locomotives on the roster
At the end of 1943 there were 4 locomotives on the roster - two of them, 20 and 455 were undergoing wreck repairs
At the end of 1951 there were 5 locomotives on the roster - 20, 42, 74, 455 and 461
