Pretty much anything narrow gauge owned by the Rio Grande smaller than a K-28 was run on the RGS, along with 4-6-0's from the F&CC and the Denver Circle. Essentially, here is a breakdown of all power 'owned' by the Southern, all are 2-8-0s, all are Baldwin unless noted.
Order of the columns (which this software doesn't do well) are:
Number / Class / In Service / Out of Service / Previous Owner & #

Quite a stable of power but many were out very early. The little 56 class 2-8-0's were too small to be of good service and were gone early. Many of the 60 Class (C-16's) didn't survive the 1903 edict to install automatic air and equipment and were scrapped in 1904. Of the remaining 60 Class only 7 were reboilered in 1916 and the rest scrapped when the three 70 Class and 3 85 Class engines came to the property.
The RGS never had a 'new' locomotive in all its years. Many D&RG(W) locos were leased by the RGS over the years to augment whatever they had on hand.
Hope this helps.
