I have gone one further!!!
I took a program that will take frequencies and play them as notes, and logged Dave's numbers in. What I got was a pretty accurate 5 second sound file of both 487 and 488's whistles.Unfortunately this forum will not let me post these here.
I then took all these frequencies and did a little internet research. I found out how to make tubes to the appropriate length for each frequency. There is a lot of math. It is based on the diameter of the tube, the frequency, whether the pipe is capped or not, and more....
Afterwords I built a PVC whistle that matches 487!!! Unfortunately, I used wooden "reeds" that shrunk and eventually blew out. This whistle only worked on my truck for about a month
I also do not have any pictures of this particular whistle yet. It is still on my work truck, and I may be able to get one next week...
