First, this is an excellent interview with Commissioner Malnar. That's simply the best communication from the commission I can remember.
Fundamentally changing the foundations of the railroad is being discussed. Maybe even the state of NM purchasing CO's portion of the line !
Steve explains the horrendous bureacracy associated with the arrangement. Of course this is only in the discussion phase, but it is encouraging that something other than a "bandaid" fix is being considered.
Mr. Malnar also mentioned that Starfire Engineering will in fact be in charge of project management of the EDA grant money projects.
There seemed to be a strong assumption that the grants (at least for the trackwork) are in the bag. Let's hope so, and the same for the engine grant.
That was a great interview, thanks for posting it.
The process for stabilizing the track sounds fascinating, I hope you get a chance to record the process with your digital imaging device.
