Yep, that's our work. Because of the tension on the cables, we were not able to raise the entire structure back to its original height. We also did not extend the stairway to the bottom in order to keep people out of the top of the bin. Back in the 1980s or 90s, people were living in this thing and almost burned it down. Since it is owned by the federal government, they wanted to minimize people damage to the structure. The cable anchor is secured with about 20 yards of concrete well buried. There is also (or was) a suspension bridge across the river to access the mine which is pretty high up on the cliff. We had to verify that the top anchor points were still stable and had a consulting mining engineer work out all that for us, and he also designed the new lower cable anchor. There was a series of mines along the top of that section of cliffs, but the BLM had them "remediated" about 20 years ago which means they obliterated all the structures and portal openings. Only the top anchor for this one was allowed to remain.
