I agree, John -

There's nothing worse than a brightly-colored baseball cap - such as the following example instigated by the daughter of a known instigator:

... Except when a similar headpiece is flaunted by a notorious Phraud-O-Grapher, while his protogé is adorned with a phony trainman's chapeau:

One D&RGW fireman was reputed to wear a cowboy hat on occasion, even when working for real - not on a Phraud-O-Phreight™:

- and later was known to have donned a baseball cap from time to time, even when doing serious work as an engineer:

(Although I must admit it wasn't too brightly colored - at least by the time the above photo was taken.)

Nonetheless, your point is well taken - in general, clothes DO make the man!
