We know that efforts are well afoot to rebuild, relay track, and restore some or all of many of the narrow gauge lines across the continent, such as the Sumpter Valley, WW&F, SR&RL, Tweetsie, Southern Pacific and now the Billerica and Bedford. What other lines are out there with the potential to be restored, where there is some existing equipment and open right of way? I came up with this list, in no particular order:
Chicago and Northwestern in southwestern Wis.
Ohio River and Western
Westside Lumber
North Pacific Coast
Uintah
Surrey Sussex and Southampton
Death Valley Baby Gauge
Quincy and Torch Lake
Colorado and Southern
Nevada County Narrow Gauge
Are there others that I have missed? Is there already track being laid for operations on the original alignments of any of the above?
