Thanks, Rich -
Here are a few more. I took lots of pics in those days, but almost no notes, so I'll need
your help in identifying some of the C&TS employees in the following, and in verifying
the dates.
I'm fairly sure the one of #484 posted above, with Gary Getman riding the tender, was taken on the evening of Sept. 22, 1972 - the second C&TS Moonlight Dinner Train - IF it was a double-header from Chama to Cumbres, with #483 pulling the train from Cumbres to Osier and back to Chama.
CORRECTION, 08/15/15 -
I have just discovered a BIG tin box chuck full of "rejects" - slides not (quite) good enough to make it into the carousel for projection. There are shots of the Dinner Train on FRIDAY, 09/22/72 and also of the Double-Header taken on SATURDAY, Sept. 23, 1972. I have just finished scanning a few of these and will post them later after cropping, etc.
I think the following were taken one month earlier, on the afternoon of August 25 - the C&TS very first Moonlight Dinner Train to Osier - but I have no idea who the two employees are.
Oahu Railway #19 pulled an engine out of the roundhouse
:
Then a fan was placed on her stack to provide a draft when lighting the fire:
A speeder preceded the train at Cresco
:*
It was nearly dark by the time #483 and her train crossed the short trestle
