Ohh, I want to play.....

1. When I rode behind her for the first time, it completed my complement of riding behind all of the C&TS engines.
2. Her really cool deep whistle.
3. Cab ride in the yard. I was on the left side, keeping an eye out for stuff (people & switch positions) while Floppo ran the engine. He wanted a set of eyes on the left side, and the other cab crew member was riding back to Antonito in the bus after the train arrived Chama that afternoon. I kept my hands of the camera, I was working!
Then the dumb stuff she does:
4. Derailment #1, opening weekend (2008?), at Los Pinos. Put all but the front pony on the ballast. End of train ride that day right there. Long story as to why.
5. Derailment #2, 2 years ago entering Phantom Curve, westbound. Just dripped one set of drivers. We were going slow in a slow order. Just enough sag in the track to kick off one driver. Back on the track 20 minutes later. So, just a little late for lunch.
6. 4th of July train a few years ago. Halfway up Cumbres, we got into the rain. My girl "slippery feet" was no good at getting any traction. I think Chama Jose (there is a Jose in Antonito too), was at the throttle. He is good, she was bad. We were late getting back to Chama for the fireworks.
7. Just this year, 7 car train. She still has traction issues, and Chama Jose couldn't get her to bite. It is guessed that the early season rust had yet to all wear off, thus causing my girl to have troubles.
I swear to God, if I put on lip balm climbing Cumbres, she will slip. But, she is my girl.
