Hello, All -
Six-plus years later, I'm not too surprised the the above links result in "Fehler", and would appreciate an update as to the possibilities. My daughter Cindy ('Jackelopette' here on the NGDF) is currently living in Hohenfels, a bit north of Munich, where her husband David is stationed for a few more months. They're thinking of a vacation in a few weeks, and since my grandson Alex likes trains I'd like to help them find an area where they can enjoy fall colors and at least one train ride that a five year old boy would enjoy — more than just an amusement park, but probably not more than a couple of hours or maybe three at most. My German isn't good enough to understand the HSB website, although it's clear that steam trains are still running and the usual Covid-19 precautions are in effect. The index in my World Atlas didn't list Harz Mountains, so I have no idea where HSB is in relation to Munich, much less how to get there, etc.
. . .
Any help would be much appreciated!!
