I had been in two fights while firing .Back in 1975 ,a drunk trespasser who parked his Cadillac over the track at Lobato got his nose seriously rearranged by Yours Truly when he slapped my glasses off .
A 50 year old juvenile named Tom Evans got punched out in Chama after he hit me in the throat with a piece of coal . That got me fired . If you are angry enough ,wait until after work (and off the property) to confront a tormentor .Chances are you will be cooled off by then ,and common sense will prevail .Remember you work for the engineer .That ,however does not mean you have to take his abuse(and vice-versa). A good person will appreciate good treatment .There are all kinds of people who railroad, however, and a hell of a lot of them are malcontents who are there because they don't fit in in a real-world jobs- or even other railroads!
