Pardon my ignorance, what was the 191 trade all about? When did the Huckleberry get the 464, did anyone else have an oportunity to get the engine? Did Knotts have it running when they got rid of it? Does it burn oil now?
The 191 trade is detailed below. The CyZ #4 does indeed have a very poor boiler and is not in the immediate future for restoration.
The terms of the Knott's deal for the 464 were "private", but if you ask around you can find them out. The engine was not "shopped around" when the deal happened. The locomotive was operable in only the loosest sense of the term when the transfer happened; in fact, while helping to remove the lead driver, the left hand tire fell off! Also, Knott's removed the superheaters, and the tube sheets replaced for a "soak" arrangement. 464 now burns coal, it was oil at Knott's. Also, the Huck replaced the 9 1/2 single pump Knott's put on with the correct cross compound.
