Ahh...getting close to as close of a hometown as I have...
The aforementioned Red River book Hanft wrote is one good reference, the only other one I know of is a softbound book titled Chips and Sawdust written by Beulah Johnson, originally published by the Shasta Historical Society back in 1978 and then revised in 1989. A search in used book websites might yield a copy, as of a few minutes ago there was one available from a Eureka, California bookstore available through Abe Books. This book is a history of the lumber industry in Shasta County, and the Terry/Red River operations and predecessors rate the better part of seven pages.
Not much left to show the operations ever existed...most of this operation's operating area burned over in the 1992 Fountain Fire. There are a few of the old railroad grades marked as such on USGS 7.5-minute/1:24,000 maps east of Round Mountain, not far off the west side of the summit of Hatchet Mountain. Fascinating operation...hope you find lots...Shasta Historical Society would probably be the best place to start looking for what hasn't been published yet.
