Now that I kinda know what you are looking for I have to ask---What is so special about Lava. If its for a movie, why not pick Los Pinos, or Chama for better looking tanks. Shooting video in September I noticed the spout is not real positioned correctly, probably by design since the tank is not operational. The point is it looks kinda strange for a movie type of scenario.
Los Pinos would be better, if you are using the train it and Chama would work. If you are looking for more remote, why not Osier. At Los Pinos and Osier you would just have to get the right angle to omit things like buildings and cabins that might not be wanted. Also there is Cresco which is somewhat remote.
If you are looking for watering holes, Sublette is really nice cause the nice buildings are there, and it still looks remote, but its a standpipe, like Cumbres. Depends on what you are after.
