There are lots of things worse than a steam engine in summer - especially a diseasel!
In fact any diseasel is worse than any steam engine ANY time of year, IMnsHO.
I was lucky - I got to ride on and chase #610 in February, 1976, in Texas. IIRC it rained one of the nights we were in Austin, but otherwise the weather was pretty good, with just enough cloud cover to soften the shadows. For pics see [
