Ned,Don't recall a mission like that. Most of mine were over Laos (or would have been if the Air Farce didn't deny our flying there) shooting up trucks on the Ho Chi Min trail. There is nothing like being in a C-47 at 1,000 Ft and having a Quad 50 open up at you. 
Our most rewarding missions though were the occasional "in country" missions when we were saving some ground troops from being annihilated.
