I guess you can interpret these things in several ways. I can see how someone might be confused, although I really wasn't. What is more deceptive to me was the C&TS freight train on the cover. The big text says Colorado Narrow Gauge, under the TRAINS banner then "Tales from before the tourists, p22. Then they show a C&TS lettered 487 on a freight train. This is their annual May issue with the tourist train guide, and of the C&TS fits right in. I can see where a picture of a D&RGW freight might have fit the text better, or a picture of a regular C&TS PASSENGER train, to show the railroad is still there. After all the small caption down by the fence at Dalton says " A Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Train Steams In New Mexico".
I guess we can over-think this, but in the long run it brings attention to current day Colorado/NM NG, as well as giving a bit of history. Free advertising is always good! I had to pay for my ad though!!!
