This is true. Removing Mr. Loco from that particular performance would leave the audience watching a talented, yet somewhat uncomfortable, Ed Stabler strumming out some chords on his guitar for no apparent purpose. However, the overall performance quality would be greatly enhanced... at the expense of some limited comedic elements.
