In 1970 or so we visited 278 when it was in Montrose. It was pretty well intact then. I remember tugging on the throttle and Johnson bar and all that stuff. Dad left my little brother and I to "play" on the engine while he went to get gas in the family station wagon. By the time he got back my little brother and I were halfway up Marshall Pass (in our minds anyway...)
