I really am not sure about this but I think he worked at Bridgeport, Ct some of the time, and I believe he was a relief operator. The reason I say Bridgeport is that he wound up getting a job for his friend Art Lynch who spent a his time after that in Bridgeport.
Somewhere around here I have an old train sheet where he wrote down all the movements for a shift on the Long Island and it was an enormous amount of work. He was a lucky dude, cause he got to work in all three of his hobby fields. Trains, Music(writer, and producer for Victor Records), and stamps. Most of his time after WW2 was as a professional stamp dealer. He was a life long steam fan, and his favorite engine was the Pennsy K4(4-6-2) I gotta agree with him on the whistles of those engines...great sound!
