Saturday's Hint - Re: what's wrong?

Hi,

I was going to offer the 14' version of the D&RG cars only.

However, I took the 14' drawings and generated the 17' versions.

The 14' versions were numbered as follows:

500's flat and gon.
1000's box cars.

According to some, there was only one box car since only one was shipped from back east.

Having looked over the available information, box cars were numbered 1000-1009 and the gons (being interchangable with flats) were 500-602.

It is my understanding that only one complete car was sent from back east of each type (one box car and one flat car with optional stakes and optional gon sides). Additionally, the ironmongery for 9 additional box cars were included. The flat/gon was the same way - one complete car plus the ironmongery for 101 additional cars were shipped.

The 4-wheel cars appear to have dropped off the roster by the 1887 renumbering. All 14' four wheel cars had a 9500# capacity. All 17' four wheel cars had a 10,500# capacity.
