Roger: I am pleased that you and your wife are still running that wonderful hostelery. I too have been staying there since it was Kelly's Shamrock Hotel. Built by the son of D&RG engineer Kelly. On one visit in the early 1960s I found a cardboard box in the room's closet. It was full of old railroad phtots, including a mounted print of the famous doubleheaded view of #406 (later 346 of CRM fame) and #410 crossing Lobato Trestle in 1906. When I asked the desk clerk if I could have the "old photos" in my room, he replied "si Senior."
The Cafe (downstairs) in those days was run by Vera, who later opened Viva Vera's Resturant, which had the best Mexican food in Northern New Mexico. Sadly, the eatery closed when Vera passed away a few years back. Does anyone recall Vera's last name? She was a wonderful lady.
