Dave,

The Friends' instructions for 2015 work sessions says on Page11 that the Friends will provide major power tools and have some hand tools to loan "but if you bring your own, there will be no shortages or surprises." So it is permitted to bring your own tools. The tools instruction on page11 has a bit more on marking tools and securing them, so give it a look (link below to the forms list). In past years, Friends tools used by the tree crew have included a manual pole saw, a chain saw, bow saws, loppers and a gas-powered brush cutter. We always carry the lightweight gear. The powered gear depends on circumstances.
