As for the Rio Grande, the C-17s and C-18s had a similar (not the same) driver spacing and overall similar look. A couple major differences were the location of the bell and sand dome, and the firebox front dipping down into the frame on the c-17.
The C-16 and the C-19 also had similar look and driver spacing (again not the same). A couple major differences were the boiler diameter and length, and the cylinder bore size.
All had identical driver centers, same cylinder stroke, and shared / swapped tenders throughout the classes. All but the c-16 had the same cylinder bore, with the 16 being 1 inch smaller.
Curious, I have seen specs on all the C class locos, but I dont think in one place. What was the tonnage rating for all 4 classes on level ground, and up to 4% grades?
