Thanks John! Just trying to inquire to see what the problem was. Kyle explained it well. Too technical for a general circulation paper other than the obvious. The proof is that there is very little failure in old equipment due to the shop crews at both the D&S and C&TS.
In one of my rides on the C&TS the air compressor on the loco failed during lunch at Osier. Soni and Jeff spring into action and eventually got it going. Had to stop a few times to pump up the air and the RR sent one of the diesels up from Antonito just incase we needed air. It wasn't used as the rolling repair of the train crew got us through. Made for a memorable trip getting to see this extra!!
