As an aside I am wondering on engines that had Priest flangers why some had an indicator flag and some didn't get this detail? What was the indication for the engineer in the cab that the pilot flanger is up or down? See the
photo of # 480 in Chama, the indicator flag, shaped like a "home" plate and is between the enginneer side marker lamp and the headlight. I assume then that it moves up and down with the blade position so that it is visible to the engineer. I recall seeing one on a K-28 photo posted here from a D&S winter ops but can't find it now
