ISTR seeing reference[1] to a D&RG branch to Tincup, to leave the Crested Butte branch at Almont and go up the Taylor River to Tincup. One of the proposed lines work was stopped on during the last push to Salt Lake City and work never resumed as Palmer lost control. Supposedly about 1\4 mile was completed (graded?) but I could never find any trace of it when I lived in Gunnison. I assume whatever sections were graded, if any, now lie under the county road.
D&RG filing information Mouth Tailor River (near Almont) to Virginia City:
"Location began Septemer 1, 1881 completed October 18, 1881.
Date of filing May 14 1883, returned for correction August 29, 1883, filed August 29, 1883.
About 0.25 mile track laid in 1883. This was removed about 1890 and replaced in 1915 and named 'Spring Creek'. Forfeited October 16 1925."
