What page in the book?
As far as I know there's no grading on the east side or a tunnel portal.

Any tunnel would have to be in Taylor Park, and then somehow get to Crested Butte. One way would be around Taylor Reservoir, over Spring Creek "Pass" and then down the current highway. A long way to go to lose elevation.
