Thanks for helping me remeber which leg of the wye went in first.
The ballast you see was placed with a front end loader. We just scooped up the rock next to the tracks and dumped it between the rails. WE had to level it by hand and throw out the bigger rocks. My first job given to me by Laura was to shovel the "ballast" level. This happened Sept. 1976 over Labor Day weekend.
