Taylor is correct that we had only about 500 ft of mainline. Shortly after the opening we had the east (or was it the west) leg of the wye that went to the "shed" and then we got the west (or was it the east) leg installed and one train length of mainline beyond the west leg. At this time the ride consisted of twice around the wye with a stop at the wood pile. It was so many years ago I forget just what the configuration was maybe Taylor has that information.
At that time and for a couple of years the wood was split by hand with a maul and chain saw. Sometimes we even had the passengers wait while we split wood for the No. 3 and handed it up from the ground.
Great time was had by all.
