I was going to put out a list of third division engineers but there are some people who are hard to find. Also I will be looking into long long these men lived after they retired.
Some tidbits were found along the way. Alamosa conductor D.H. (Henry) Hines was born circa 1877 which put him at about 73 years old when he boarded the last Train 216, the San Juan, at Durango. Conductor George Andriko boarded with engineer Henry Nissen and his wife Volairene for a while. Alamosa brakeman J.C. Legg didn't start railroading until he was almost 38. Frank Fitzsimmons father George was also an engineer out of Salida on the ``broad gauge'' and older brother George was a brakeman. Frank may have been named after his mother, Frances.
Salida engineer Charles D. Wilson lost three years of age between censuses. That turned out to be importants since he was still running engines in 1960 at age 70 rather than 73. There was another Charles Wilson who was a Salida switchman.
