As an addendum to my earlier post, I note that the operator of the King Lease Camp Bird Mine was an objector at the ICC abandonment hearing (as was the miners union.) To answer the objection, the Rio Grande promised the ore transload facility at Ridgeway. The mine operator then withdrew his objection. The Rio Grande also promised to provide a stock loading facility at Ridgeway.
