In further response to Greg Scholl's query (above), here are a few more of my photos from 02/08/12 -
There was PLENTY of steam surrounding the engine as she exited the tunnel above Gold Hill

We then headed back to the engine yard to water the engine and load the box lunches while the shop crew worked on the cylinder packing. Afterward, we headed down to the curve and cut near milepost 13 for another run-by

Next we moved on to the tunnel near m.p. 12 (see [
ngdiscussion.net]), and then headed back toward Virginia City. IIRC, this was at the second-to-last run-by

All in all, it was a fabulous day on a spectacular railroad! The team at the V&T are very gracious hosts, and I highly recommend a visit!!
