Ernie was using Kodachrome for his color slides.
Here's the 67-car Durango-Chama train of July 5th, 1967, at Falfa. Per a note on the slide, "There was trouble ahead."

"Yes, Virginia, there IS a Tiffany, CO. (See [
ngdiscussion.net].) This is the train of 07/05/67, now down to 63 cars, climbing the hill between La Boca and Tiffany later in the afternoon than originally planned

And the same 43-car train entering Monero Canyon westbound the next day
