Status of Port Elizabeth Line?

Slightly off topic, but does anyone have any current information on the status of the Pt. Elizabeth - Avontuur narrow gauge? There seems to be a lot of conflicting information out there. I have heard variously that the Apple Express was running, that the Apple Express was shut down temporarily, or permanently, that the line was being scrapped, that it was still hauling a little freight (cordwood or pulpwood), that some were planning to start carrying fruit again due to problems with truck haulage.....

Does anyone have any accurate up-to-date info?
