Nice shots...When were these taken?
On the first one, I suspect the SG train is headed to Ficksburg? We
shot a train departing the station on the s-curve to the right of your shot. I have not scanned those, and have a bunch more to do some day.
Sigh...ah one of the best lines for steam in the world!!!!

Here's one departing upgrade just outside Bethlehem. This was the Saturday only passenger train returning workers to Lesotho(Ficksburg).
The shot I had earlier(head-on), was the return empty stock working at Sekonyela the same day.

One more below of the same train passing the polo field at Slabberts working up to speed!!! This train left early(7 am from Bethlehem).
This train was a bit shorter than the daily passenger train so it was faster running. The engineer was the same guy I had the day before when I rode this engine's cab as the second engine of a doubleheader. The engine is 3405 now preserved in Glascow, Scotland. This was 1984.
