Skidmk,
Your pictures are wonderful. And I see that you don't understand that she is pretty close as it is to being ready for a full Rebirth. Not many more parts are going to be needed to be taken off of this beauty for the rework to begin, I am sure, like our friend stated above many parts were taken off for the asbestos removal and are stored in a box car set aside for 483. Controls and Valves that are missing in the Cab are easily casted or purchased. The only difference is that you need to have a possitive attitude about the Rebuild Efforts. Remember these items that are not showing in your pictures of 483, compared to an operating K-36, are not completely out of the realm of possibilites or lost. Everything is possible, it is where you put yourself at that can make the difference. If you want to keep on being negative about it all, you can, but it won't change how I feel about 483. I like what Russo said about doing a cosmetic display for now while the dust settles around 463.
We as a group need to promote ridership more now if ever in the history of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic, without it there will not be a C&TS railroad to enjoy or argue over.
Best Regard to all,
Dave
