Jerry,
Based on your description you must be referring to West Loch which is an annex of Naval Magazine Lualualei located in Ewa and near Ewa Beach. There was a large yard just outside the fence and a number of sidings visable from the road. Following abandonment of the OR&L main line in December 1947 the Navy took an option on the trackage from Pearl Harbor to Lualualei and used the line during the Korean War. It was also used occasionaly (once a week or so) between West Loch and Lualualei during the Viet Nam War ending operations in 1968. Rail operations at Lualualei continued until 1974. The approximately 12 miles of remaining old ROW is now on the National Register of Historic Places and about 7 miles is in use by the Hawaiian Railway Society. All track and material was removed as scrap by a contractor at Lualualei but there is an extensive amount of track remaining at West Loch. HRS has authorization to remove this material but it's a difficult task to say the least. There is a rumor that two freight cars of some type still exist at West Loch but we've never seen them dispite many trips onto the base.
